Dr Edward Bach, creator of the Bach Flower Remedies

Dr Edward Bach was a pioneer of natural medicines, initially leaving conventional medicine for homeopathy and then abandoning a successful Harley Street practice to find something even more subtle than that. He felt that Illness was a message from our higher self drawing attention to an imbalance in our lives and calling for a change in our way of living and mental outlook. The primary purpose of the Bach Flower Remedies is to help us to be able to make that change and bring us back to a genuinely happy experience of life.

Dr Bach explained the healing properties of his flower remedies in terms of a recognition that his patients were much more than just the outward physical body that is treated by conventional medicine. He also recognised the importance of emotional and mental wellbeing as a contributing factor in the appearance of physical symptoms. The Bach Flower Remedies have been in use throughout the world in the years since his death in 1936 and, from this ground breaking work in only the last seven years of his life he opened the way for the blossoming of flower essences and the many ranges that we can find today from around the world.

If you would like to read more about Dr Bach, we have several books on his flower remedies which you will find here.
