    Cowslip

Cowslips have a lovely gentle energy. Rising on a single stalk they open into a cluster of blooms (often called 'keys' : legend says that St Peter dropped the keys to Heaven when he learned that there was already a set; the keys landed in northern Europe and where they fell the first Cowslips sprang from this spot). Each flower head modesty hangs, looking within and down. It is a plant of humility but also lightness and joy with its rich golden colour at the centre.

We are living in increasingly complex times. Discernment and the ability to read the subtleties within situations are needed to navigate this. Cowslip essence helps us see the integrated pattern of that which lies before us and pick a gentle authentic way through them. It calls us both to step back and see clearly, yet step in and engage with.

One of the biggest things that can undermine our ability to see is the conditioned thinking we have had from our upbringing. What we think we ‘should’ do can handicap us from responding with more creativity and authenticity to life. The fear of getting it wrong and doing what others would disapprove of can hamper our ability to engage with how we genuinely need to respond. We can get a sense of brain fog - the mind becomes woolly in complex or highly emotive situations and we lose the ability to think clearly in the moment. We suffer from doubt, indecision and a lack of confidence about our own way forward.

Clearing the mind of 'shoulds' and allowing ourselves to settle back into the wholeness of who we are and the situation we find ourselves in - the knowing we need can emerge. Cowslip Essence helps support this process of gentle authentic seeing and being, as we throw off the pattern of trying to work out what others think we should do. It empowers us to step forward with clarity and find our own responses.
